What is MUFON?
MUFON, or Mutual UFO Network, is a non-profit 501(c)3 charitable corporation, the world's oldest and largest civilian UFO/UAP investigation and research organization. It was founded in 1969 by Walt Andrus of Seguin, Texas. MUFON publishes a monthly journal, holds an annual symposium, and has a structured field investigator training program.
What Do We Do?
MUFON is leading the charge to solve the UFO mystery once and for all, and you are invited to join us on this great journey as both a member and an active participant.
The Washington State Chapter of MUFON has members from all walks of life: doctors and professors of Earth Sciences, Geology, Archeology and Computer Science and many other areas of expertise, as well as physicians, test pilots and other ex-military personnel. Our team strives for professional and scientific accuracy when analyzing UFO phenomena. We use the scientific method of collecting data and specimens as evidence before putting forward hypotheses or theories.
Mission Statement & Goals
- Investigate UFO sightings and collect the data in the MUFON database for use by researchers worldwide.
- Promote research on UFOs to discover the true nature of the phenomenon, with an eye towards scientific breakthroughs, and improving life on our planet.
- Educate the public on the UFO phenomenon and its potential impact on society.
